Himanshu Verma

DVM

Dr. Himanshu Verma obtained his Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc and A.H) professional doctorate degree from a prestigious Veterinary University(GADVASU) in 2007 from India. After graduating, he moved to USA and successfully completed the rigorous program of Education Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates(ECFVG) administered by American Veterinary Medical Association(AVMA) in February, 2009. He then pursued a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery internship at VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in Connecticut, completing that in June, 2010.

 

Dr. Verma is licensed to practice veterinary medicine, surgery and dentistry in New Jersey and has practiced in a multi-doctor practice in Woodbridge, New Jersey since July, 2010 in various roles ranging from Associate Veterinarian to being Chief of Staff. During this time, he lead an efficient and engaged veterinary hospital team.

 

Dr. Verma is very enthusiastic and excited about his new endeavor of Raritan Valley Veterinary Hospital and is looking forward to serve Branchburg area and surrounding communities. He believes the most rewarding part of being a veterinarian is helping sick pets feel better so that they can go home and bring joy to their families. Building trusted relationship with his clients in care of their pets brings him immense satisfaction everyday.

 

Dr. Verma is a seasoned surgeon and his special interests include dentistry, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine/endocrinology and preventative medicine. He is actively involved in pursuing continuing education and learning the very latest treatments and diagnostic techniques. He takes great joy in educating his team and his clients to help ensure that all pets maintain the highest quality of life and health. He is an active member of AVMA(American Veterinary Medical Association), NJVMA(New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association) and AAVIO(American Association of Veterinarians of Indian Origin)

 

Dr. Verma and his lovely wife, Neha are Somerset county residents for past 10 years and have two adorable kids and a rescued Maltese/Poodle mix, Magic. When not working, Dr. Verma relish outdoor activities including running, biking, volleyball and cricket.

Jitesh Toshniwal

DVM

Dr. Jitesh Toshniwal earned his Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from a prestigious veterinary university in India in the year 2005. He then moved to the United States and earned his M.S. in Animal Science from Pennsylvania State University in 2007. At the same time, Dr. Toshniwal passed his veterinary boards for foreign veterinary graduates and earned his veterinary licensure in the U.S and started practicing in 2008. While practicing medicine, Dr Toshniwal pursued and earned his M.B.A in 2010 to hone his management skills. 

He has been practicing small animal medicine for 13 years with a special interest in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, preventative medicine, and client education.

 

Dr. Toshniwal  says the most satisfying and rewarding part of being a veterinarian is developing lasting relationships with his clients and seeing the joy of families with their healthy pets. Dr. Toshniwal loves animals and believes it is a blessing to be able to treat and care for them. He embraces any learning opportunity that is available to him, such as veterinary conventions and continuing education lectures or seminars.

Dr. Toshniwal has not only enjoyed practicing medicine throughout his career but has also provided mentorship and training for several young technicians and veterinarians who became great additions to the veterinary community. Outside of work, Dr. Toshniwal enjoys spending quality time with his beautiful wife and two kids, who have a great compassion towards pets. In his free time, he loves running, biking, playing cricket, badminton, table tennis, and pickleball.

Ben Staiger

DVM

With over 15 years of experience working in both academia and various high-volume veterinary hospitals, Dr. Ben Staiger is well versed in, and routinely performs, a comprehensive range of surgeries. Besides his extensive orthopedic training, strong interest in traumatology, and love for soft tissue surgery, Dr. Staiger has a particular passion for minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and interventional radiology.

Inspired by the exceptional level of veterinary care and quality of specialty training in the United States, Dr. Staiger pursued surgical specialization at Michigan State University after graduating from the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich, Germany in 2004. After an Internship in General Medicine and Surgery, he completed a Residency in Small Animal Surgery, a Surgery Specialty Fellowship, and a Fellowship in Interventional Radiology (IR).

After moving to New Jersey in 2011, he pioneered the IR Service at NorthStar VETS and established the surgery service at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Hillsborough. In 2014 he founded Princeton Veterinary Specialists, a company that provides advanced surgery and care at select practices in New Jersey. “I’m excited about the opportunity of bringing advanced surgery and minimally invasive interventions directly to Raritan Valley Veterinary Hospital. Procedures that have traditionally been reserved for specialty centers and academia only, are now available at your veterinarian’s office.”

As a Fear Free Certified Professional, Dr. Staiger emphasizes the importance of a personal, gentle, and compassionate approach to each individual patient and their family. Dr. Staiger enjoys a number of downtime activities including traveling, hiking, sailing, skiing, motorcycling, and gardening. He loves good food, great company, and above all, quality time with his friends and family (which naturally also includes several furried, four-legged, members).

Jaime

Jaime joined Raritan Valley Veterinary Hospital in 2023. She grew up in New Jersey and had all types of pets throughout her life. She has been in the field since 2000. She has worked in many different areas at different animal hospitals and learned so much. Her interests include anesthesia, pain management, dentistry, fear free, and always continues to learn. 

 

“My goal is to continue to learn so I can provide the best care for patients. My strongest interest is minimizing anxiety and stress at vet visits. It’s important to create a calm environment so a pet can be fully examined and comfortable. In my free time I enjoy reading, movies, to spend time with friends, and to hang out with my pets. I have a pug named Monkey, and 3 cats, Spider, Rickie, and Elgee. “

Joining Raritan Valley Veterinary Hospital in December 2022, Kimberly has quickly discovered her passion for all aspects of veterinary medicine. Kim believes the most rewarding part of being a team member at Raritan Valley Veterinary Hospital is developing lasting relationships with patients and seeing families with healthy pets.

 

Kim's favorite professional interests include dentistry, client education, and surgery. In her free time Kim enjoys yoga, hiking, trying new restaurants, traveling, and most importantly spending time with her own furry friends!  ​

Tyler joined RVVH in August 2022, first as a volunteer and then found his love of the vet field and decided to work join us. In his free time he likes to play video games, hang out with friends, and go for walks. He has a dog named Bingo.

Shannon joined Raritan Valley Veterinary Hospital in 2023. She has two years of experience with animal handling and animal care. Working with animals has inspired her to join the vet field. Her favorite part of this job is learning new skills and helping pet parents learn more about pet care! 

 

My goal is to learn more about emergency care and assisting in surgery. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family. She has a dog named Leo!
